AFPP PEST CONTROL
PORT OF BRISBANE PEST REMOVAL PROPOSAL
What is the cost of inaction?
For business owners to effectively resolve the current pigeon infestation in the Port of Brisbane, a collaborative effort is required to achieve the desired results.
The return of investment for individual warehouses conducting sporadic removals only produces temporary results when neighbouring warehouses and infrastructure exist as unregulated pigeon-breeding factories.
Instead of performing temporary removal activities that are ineffective and unmeasured for long-term results, a combined and coordinated pest management plan would effectively resolve the escalating pigeon problems and protect the Port of Brisbane’s business stakeholders.
The implementation of a weekly, collective pest management plan which includes the removal of nests, chicks, and eggs, breaks the breeding cycle. Pest pigeon populations stop growing and steadily decline when they are unable to reproduce as a result of proven AFPP processes engaged across the Port of Brisbane.
AFPP provides proactive pest management systems to equip and empower clients to evolve out of reactionary crisis management, into measurable pest control solutions.
Information About Pigeons:
Young pigeons become independent in 50 - 65 days from hatching and can commence breeding themselves at 6 months. Pigeons can produce 6 clutches of eggs per year with 2 eggs minimum per clutch this equates to 5 mating pairs rearing up to 400 pigeons in just 2 years. (This figure is based on all birds involved surviving the 2-year cycle).
